Heather was overwhelmingly ‘out there’ as opposed to Noah’s almost reclusive nature. The will he won’t he, and the simmering heat was enticing and teasing. He was a conundrum that Heather wanted to solve. He had a broody intensity about him that was addictive whilst at the same time being completely laidback with a moody stillness. Noah is on a ‘time out’ from his daily life and we were dying to know the why’s and the how’s of his story. You live your life with purpose, just like I try to.” You show people with your actions what kind of person you are. “You try to remain a mystery, but I can see right through you- to your heart. The chemistry and tension was palpable as two people, despite their age difference, found themselves at a crossroads with a kindred spirit. Fascinated, whilst developing a curious attraction, Heather sets out to find out just what this gorgeous man is all about and how she can get him to ‘notice’ her the way she has noticed him. She’s a sweet young woman at only twenty years when she meets a mysterious, handsome and compelling man who has rented one of the cabins on their land. How refreshing would it be if everyone were honest about how they feel and what they want in life? Looking after the family business as well as her mentally ill Mum, Heather’s dreams and aspirations have taken a back seat. Heather had no filter and we loved her for this very reason. This was a wonderful story of sacrifice, healing, friendship, loyalty and ‘slow burn’ love. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with Heather and Noah. When August Ends by Penelope Ward was as emotional as it was funny, sweet as it was sexy. “Are you ever gonna tell me what you’re running from?”
